<p>If you prepare for the gym by eating for muscle gain, you improve your workout because your body will be at peak strength and will have the required energy to help you take full advantage of your workout.</p>
<p>There are three chief objectives that you want to achieve when eating for muscle gain prior to a workout:.</p>
<ul>
<li>Peak your strength potential.</li>
<li>Give a steady source of balanced energy to your mind and muscles all through your workout.</li>
<li>Keep muscle breakdown to a minimum and provide your body with adequate nutrients to start the post-workout recovery process.</li>
</ul>
<p>Solid food shouldn&#8217;t be the start of your eating for muscle gain program before training. You should ensure that you’re well hydrated in advance of your workout. As water plays a key part in maintaining strength and energy levels, you should always ensure you&#8217;ve consumed lots of water, particularly during the few hours preceding your workout.</p>
<p>Approximately a hour ahead of your workout, you need to ingest the ‘eating for muscle gain’ pre-workout meal. This meal should focus largely on protein. Protein will keep your body in an anabolic state and help prevent muscle breakdown throughout your workout.</p>

You can slow down the release of protein if you mix the whey with milk. This will help your body get a continuous flow of amino acids all the way through the duration of your workout.</p>
<p>On top of the protein shake, also be certain to consume 1-2 portions of a top quality, low-glycemic carbohydrates. Carbohydrates that are low on the glycemic index are such a great choice as they are broken down and absorbed by the body at a steady pace, thus giving you a continuous source of energy to sustain your workout.</p>
<p>Stay away from high glycemic carbohydrates whilst you are eating for muscle gain since they are released too hastily into your bloodstream, producing a surge in insulin levels. If you do this, your insulin levels spike up and then collapse.</p>
<p>This crash in insulin levels will cause you to tire mid-workout. If you’re about to carry out a high intensity workout, you need to go for carbohydrates that don’t produce such a rapid rise and fall in insulin levels.</p>

<p>The incredible piece of the experience he says, is that the eating habits his research revealed is the &#8220;diet that was ideal for the human race&#8221; &#8211; and because of this, it resets your body’s metabolism to a state of fat burning, as opposed to a state of fat storing like most of current day foods do.</p>
<p>The essence of the diet really makes so much sense to me because it investigates what humans are genetically programmed to eat.</p>

<p>Having seen so many diets come and go, and having seen the outcomes of this diet system and also how easy it is to understand and to follow, it could well be the answer to many people’s weightloss problems. I have to say it might not suit everyone but for those it does, they could see spectacular results.</p>

<h2><span id="more-552"></span><em><strong>What is Cholesterol?</strong></em></h2>
<p>Firstly, cholesterol is a hormone produced mostly by your liver, and like all hormones, it has many important jobs to do in maintaining your health. It is a critical structural molecule in the membranes of every one of your cells, and it is an important ingredient of brain tissue – just to name two.</p>
<p>Cholesterol is not an evil beast like so many people think it is – the truth is you cannot live without cholesterol! However, just like I’m always saying about insulin, you need the correct amount in your system. It’s true that you don’t want too much, but you sure don’t want too little either!</p>
<h2><em><strong>How Does Cholesterol Get Into Your Blood?</strong></em></h2>
<p>There are two ways to get cholesterol into your blood – by eating foods that have cholesterol (known as “dietary cholesterol”) and through the liver production I just mentioned.</p>
<p>Regarding these two ways, your body has a balance system – if you don’t get enough dietary cholesterol, your liver will produce more to make up the deficiency. (Proof enough that cholesterol is a needed thing… you just don’t want tons too much).</p>
<h2><em><strong><a href="http://flatabsworkouts.com/truthaboutabs/articles.php?a=61" rel="nofollow" >Read&#8230;Good Trans Fats vs. Bad Trans Fat Revealed </a></strong></em></h2>
<p>So here’s a hugely popular myth we can go ahead and expose today: “You get high cholesterol by eating too many cholesterol foods. “ The fact is there isn’t a single test or paper or shred of proof in the medical community that offers any proof of this.</p>
<p>It’s just a theory… a theory that has growing evidence against it.</p>
<p>One of my favorite doctors on the subject, Dr. Michael Eades (more from Dr. Eades in a second), has looked for years and he cannot find any correlation between eating dietary cholesterol and getting high cholesterol (and locating this type of research is what he does – if it existed, he’d know). In addition, most people only get about 15% of their total cholesterol from food (the rest is produced by your own body).</p>
<p>So you would have to eat an impossible amount of these cholesterol foods in order to “eat yourself to high cholesterol”. So what causes high cholesterol then? Pretty much the same thing that produces all the high blood pressure of recent generations, as well as the obesity epidemic. A high carb diet!</p>
<p>Eating a diet that is too high in carbohydrates, and not high enough in protein (the typical diet of today), causes your own liver to produce too much cholesterol! THAT’S how you get high cholesterol.</p>
<p><strong>Cholestorol Testing</strong></p>
<p>As for the cholesterol testing we all go to the doctor for… this floored me. When doctors do a cholesterol test, the final report covers four criteria:</p>
<p>1. Your “good” cholesterol, called HDL (high-density lipoprotein)</p>
<p>2. Your “bad” cholesterol, called LDL (low-density lipoprotein)</p>
<p>3. Another “bad one”: VLDL (very low-density lipoprotein)</p>
<p>4. Your total cholesterol level.</p>
<p><strong>But here’s the kicker! </strong></p>
<p>Testing for your total cholesterol level, and for your HDL level, is pretty straightforward. But performing an actual, physical test for the other two – the LDL and VLDL (the bad ones) is more difficult, and quite costly. And so – unbeknownst to you – these numbers are almost always estimated.</p>
<p><strong>Friedewald Equation</strong></p>
<p>An equation called the “Friedewald Equation” is used to estimate your LDL levels (developed by William Friedewald and others in 1972). This has become the standard, no-questions-asked process. Now, in fairness, the equation has shown to be very accurate most of the time.</p>
<p>But in recent years, more and more situations have been found where this equation produces a much higher number than if you actually tested – the estimate is wrong.</p>
<p>An example of such a situation is people who keep their carbs nice and low; such folks tend to have triglyceride levels lower than 100 mg/dl, which skews the Friedewald equation. Which means those of us who actually eat a correct, healthy, Primal diet would be told that our cholesterol is too high – because of a faulty equation. And then your prescription-happy physician will whip out his pad and prescribe a statin.</p>
<p><strong>The moral of this story?</strong></p>
<p>Keep learning. You are the guardian of your health. Doctors are one important source to be sure, but only one. To prevent your liver from over-producing cholesterol, eat a diet made up of about 65% protein and fat, and 35% carbohydrates – just like The <strong>Primal You™ Diet Course</strong> lays out.</p>
<p>If  you are being told that your cholesterol is high, and a statin (or treatment) is recommended, insist on a direct test of your LDL cholesterol level, not the estimated version derived from the Friedewald equation. (Feel free to show your physician this article!)</p>

<p>But then ask these same people precisely where they read about this, or at the very least refer to one reputable source or scientific studies or something… do you realize what you’ll get? <span id="more-537"></span></p>
<p>They’ll look at you like you’re crazy for even asking the question. Because… everyone knows fat is bad for you, right…? Well, I am sorry but… the Primal diet says that is completely wrong.</p>

<p><strong>Fat is good for you!</strong></p>
<p>Not surprisingly, it’s really not difficult to identify how the whole &#8220;fat is bad for you&#8221; approach materialized. First of all, we are massively affected by what we read and listen to and see in the tabloids and on television. And let’s face the facts… from the books were declaring you have got to go low fat.</p>
<p>Aside from that, it’s not too hard to believe that if you eat more fat, you will end up being more overweight.</p>
<p>In spite of this… that’s simply not the way it works. It&#8217;s the unique combinations of protein, fat and carbohydrates you eat that work together.</p>
<p>Subject to which combination you eat (and the quantity of each), your body will either store fat, or burn fat. In addition to helping with your blood pressure and cholesterol, or making it a whole lot worse!</p>

<p><strong>So, what is the latest diet idea?</strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s all about your hormones and how they regulate your body. The thing is&#8230;you have got the awesome power of being capable of setting your metabolism to whichever &#8220;state&#8221; you want. Just with food.<br />

<p>The degree of research available now, and trials which have been done, is incredible but the only way to find out if the Primal diet works it to try it for yourself. <p>For fat loss the  last thing you want if you are a beginner is to do is long, slow, boring cardio workouts.</p>
<p>Why is this?</p>
<p>Well&#8230; there are a couple of reasons why fat loss workouts for beginners can go wrong.<span id="more-511"></span></p>
<p><strong>Reason #1:</strong></p>
<p>Beginners will get an overuse injury from doing too much exercise volume too soon.</p>
<p>I had many new clients come to me after injuring themselves trying to get back in shape by doing excessive cardio. Pleasedon&#8217;t make the same mistake. We had to spend weeks rehabilitating their injuries beforewe could kick their fat loss workouts into high gear.</p>
<p><strong>Reason #2: </strong></p>
<p>Long, slow, boring cardio doesn&#8217;t very work well &#8211; if at all &#8211; for fat loss. Research has shown that doing 300 hours of cardio (6 hours per week for 50 weeks) resulted in only 5-6 pounds of weight loss in American men and women. That&#8217;s a waste of time.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s a better beginner fat loss workout?</p>
<p><strong>Let me explain.</strong></p>
<p>FIRST, we start by doing a general bodyweight warm-up circuit. Most old-school workouts tell you to do a 10-minute warm-upon a treadmill, but that&#8217;s a waste of time.How does a treadmill prepare you for a total body workout?</p>
<p><strong>Answer: </strong>It doesn&#8217;t. The jokes on us when we waste our time with it.</p>
<p>In the Turbulence Training workouts, you&#8217;ll get proven bodyweight circuit warm-ups that get you ready for fat loss.</p>
<p>SECOND, we do a lot of bodyweight resistance training, often while lying down on a mat.</p>

<p><strong>1)</strong>: Researchers have used interval training in all types of populations, such as overweight beginners and even in cardiac rehabilitation (talk to your doctor though first, of course, if you have any medical conditions).</p>
<p><strong>2:</strong> Research shows that subjects PREFER interval training over long cardio. So there you go, I&#8217;m not the only one who thinks cardio is boring &#8211; even subjects who volunteer for research studies would rather do interval training.</p>
<p><strong>3:</strong> The most important interval training fat loss researchstudy was performed on overweight beginner level women.</p>
<p>That study found that women who performed interval trainingon a stationary bike lost more belly fat than woman who didlong slow cardio.</p>
<p>Case closed.</p>
