Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

Is fat bad for you? Well, this article is about the Primal diet and how it preaches the fat is not bad for you, but good. It seems strange to read this after so many years of having low fat diets rammed down our throats (forgive the pun).

Let’s face it, if you talk to just about anyone trying to lose weight they will mention the fact that they are on a low fat diet.

When you ask them why they are on a low fat diet, they will invariably tell you the same thing: “Well…you don’t have to have fat. Fat is bad for you.”

But then ask these same people precisely where they read about this, or at the very least refer to one reputable source or scientific studies or something… do you realize what you’ll get?

They’ll look at you like you’re crazy for even asking the question. Because… everyone knows fat is bad for you, right…? Well, I am sorry but… the Primal diet says that is completely wrong.

More about eating a Primal diet: http://www.theprimalyou.com

Fat is good for you!

Not surprisingly, it’s really not difficult to identify how the whole “fat is bad for you” approach materialized. First of all, we are massively affected by what we read and listen to and see in the tabloids and on television. And let’s face the facts… from the books were declaring you have got to go low fat.

Aside from that, it’s not too hard to believe that if you eat more fat, you will end up being more overweight.

In spite of this… that’s simply not the way it works. It’s the unique combinations of protein, fat and carbohydrates you eat that work together.

Subject to which combination you eat (and the quantity of each), your body will either store fat, or burn fat. In addition to helping with your blood pressure and cholesterol, or making it a whole lot worse!

“Low fat” is history!

I was in my local book store last week and I happened upon a variety of the most popular dieting guides. I picked up the two or three of them and skimmed the contents, and you know what? “Low fat” is history. And not too soon!

These new diet books (and many more) all have in common the same motif… one which has finally, thank goodness, replaced the low fat mantra.

So, what is the latest diet idea?

It’s all about your hormones and how they regulate your body. The thing is…you have got the awesome power of being capable of setting your metabolism to whichever “state” you want. Just with food.

The low fat diet (strangely enough) winds up setting your metabolism to a “fat storing” state, whereas the Primal diet will set your metabolism to a “fat burning” state. The Primal diet says that fat is not bad for you but is good. Goes against the grain doesn’t it?

The degree of research available now, and trials which have been done, is incredible but the only way to find out if the Primal diet works it to try it for yourself. You will have to see how you feel on a primal diet – whether or not you lose weight at all and especially to see if you feel so hungry all the time as in a normal diet. Everyone is different so it’s your decision.

Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

Are looking for a weight loss program that works? If so, you’ve probably seen the Fat Loss for Idiots program around, along with plenty of Fat Loss For Idiots Diet Reviews. What’s this program about? It’s touting to offer you a high rate of fat loss with minimal effort involved.

Fat Loss For Idiots works on the claim that it is all about eating your foods in a certain manner throughout the day, while decreasing the attention that is paid to a proper exercise plan.

By Vince DelMonte

But how beneficial is Fat Loss For Idiots? Understanding some common dieting myths is important to determine whether this program is worth its salt. First, if you read their premise, they state that if you eat 2500 calories a day, your body will adapt and stop burning 2500 calories a day.

Well sorry folks, but that just is not correct. If your body adapted to burning off however many calories a day you are eating, how do you think you got fat in the first place? Your body certainly did not adapt to those calories – what makes you think it will adapt to the ones this program tells you to eat?

The bottom line is that if you are looking for a smart way to lose fat, you will need to create a caloric deficit. Your Six Pack Quest does this. By reading through it, you will get access to a metabolic calculator to determine the optimal number of calories your body needs to guarantee fat loss, without feeling like you’re starving.

Sure, if you have been on a starvation diet, you will need to up the calories – and when you do, you’ll find you do actually lose weight! But if you are currently eating thousands of calories, your body will not adapt to burning those off. You need an action plan that works – Your Six Pack Quest will lay it out for you in easy to understand terms that anyone can follow.

Next, when looking at the Fat Loss For Idiots program, they downgrade exercise stating that it doesn’t ‘matter’ when it comes to gaining or losing weight. How can exercise not matter?! Study after study has shown that dieters who combine exercise with their dietary efforts show a much higher rate of fat loss, rather than a mixture of muscle and body fat.

Do you know what happens when you lose both muscle and fat? Your metabolism slows down. So sure, you’ve lost weight but now your natural metabolic rate is slower meaning you have to eat less for the rest of your life! Is that something you want? A diet of rabbit food forever? Didn’t think so.

Your Six Pack Quest will show you how to exercise productively, where you aren’t spending hours in the gym, but you are getting results. Doing so will help you retain that crucial muscle mass, thus helping keep your metabolism revved and make maintaining your weight loss a piece of cake.

So, instead of falling for another gimmicky plan that promises rapid weight loss (they claim 9 pounds in 11 days – which will be mostly water anyway), opt for a plan that combines both a healthy, long-term way of eating with healthy exercise that doesn’t feel like torture.

Your Six Pack Quest offers meal plans just as Fat Loss For Idiots does, but it takes things one step further – you’ll also received detailed exercise descriptions and plans for a variety of exercise needs, a workout DVD, a virtual trainer, supplement information, along with continuous updates on all the latest on the research front related to fat loss.

It really is an all inclusive program that will address all the factors that contribute to weight gain – not just diet alone. Remember, losing weight should be a lifestyle approach, not just changing what you put on your plate.

———————————-

For fat loss the last thing you want if you are a beginner is to do is long, slow, boring cardio workouts.

Why is this?

Well… there are a couple of reasons why fat loss workouts for beginners can go wrong.

Reason #1:

Beginners will get an overuse injury from doing too much exercise volume too soon.

I had many new clients come to me after injuring themselves trying to get back in shape by doing excessive cardio. Pleasedon’t make the same mistake. We had to spend weeks rehabilitating their injuries beforewe could kick their fat loss workouts into high gear.

Reason #2:

Long, slow, boring cardio doesn’t very work well – if at all – for fat loss. Research has shown that doing 300 hours of cardio (6 hours per week for 50 weeks) resulted in only 5-6 pounds of weight loss in American men and women. That’s a waste of time.

So what’s a better beginner fat loss workout?

Let me explain.

FIRST, we start by doing a general bodyweight warm-up circuit. Most old-school workouts tell you to do a 10-minute warm-upon a treadmill, but that’s a waste of time. How does a treadmill prepare you for a total body workout?

Answer: It doesn’t. The jokes on us when we waste our time with it.

In the Turbulence Training workouts, you’ll get proven bodyweight circuit warm-ups that get you ready for fat loss.

SECOND, we do a lot of bodyweight resistance training, often while lying down on a mat.

That’s right, you’ll discover how to work your body and burn calories while LYING DOWN.

You’re going to be shocked by these exercises. In the Turbulence Training Beginner Workouts, you’ll see how to use total body exercises to burn fat with little or NO equipment, all done in the comfort of your own home.

THIRD, we finish off with interval training.

And YES, beginners can do interval workouts.

Here’s how I know this:

1): Researchers have used interval training in all types of populations, such as overweight beginners and even in cardiac rehabilitation (talk to your doctor though first, of course, if you have any medical conditions).

2: Research shows that subjects PREFER interval training over long cardio. So there you go, I’m not the only one who thinks cardio is boring – even subjects who volunteer for research studies would rather do interval training.

3: The most important interval training fat loss researchstudy was performed on overweight beginner level women.

That study found that women who performed interval trainingon a stationary bike lost more belly fat than woman who didlong slow cardio.

Case closed.

Fortunately, with the Turbulence Training Beginner Workoutprogram you also get my “Bodyweight Cardio” program that replaces interval training if you don’t have a bike.

You can get that workout, plus three more beginner fat lossworkouts here – all for less than the price of a greasy large pizza meal from one of the big chains:

http://turbulencetraining.com

Beginners can lose fat very fast with these workouts,

Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

There are so many choices available and it’s hard to get it right. This article by Mike Geary – the author of The Truth about Six Pack Abs – will help you choose the right foods to eat. He will tell you all about the 55 foods you should have for musclebuilding and fat loss.

by Mike Geary

In most of my Lean-Body Secrets Newsletters, I like to provide a healthy snack or meal recipe that not only is delicious and healthy, but also helps to get you closer to that hard-body appearance that everyone is looking for, while also more importantly, improving your health for life. In this article, I’d like to give you healthy food ideas in a different way. This time, I figured I’d just give you some ideas of what I stock my fridge and cabinets with.

Remember, if you don’t have junk around the house, you’re less likely to eat junk! If all you have is healthy nutritious foods around the house, you’re forced to make smart choices. Basically, it all starts with making smart choices and avoiding temptations when you make your grocery store trip. Now these are just some of my personal preferences, but perhaps they will give you some good ideas that you’ll enjoy.

Flat Abs Workouts
Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

Manboobs (gynaecomastia) can be embarrassing. Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

Manboobs (gynaecomastia) can be embarrassing. If fact, some men are so embarrassed by them they even resort to surgery for gynecomastia. So what causes manboobs and more importantly, how do you lose them?

3 quick questions:

1. Are you a guy or do you know one close to you over the age of 35?

2. Have you or he looked at your/his bare chest lately?

3. If so… did you see them?…The dreaded….

“Manboobs”?

Manboobs are not funny!

Obviously if you are female this is not an issue. But for us men, “gynaecomastia”, often jokingly referred to as manboobs (we can thank “Seinfeld” for that) is anything but funny.

From this point on, I’ll refer to it as “MB” if that’s okay by you.

MB is not an age thing. It can occur at almost any time in life. However, for those of us over 35, it is more common.

This is just one of the many symptoms of “andropause”, or “male menopause.”

When you age your testosterone levels decline…and more than that the testosterone gets “weaker” due to an imbalance between it and estrogen.

When you combine that with our modernized “estrogen-rich” environment that Dr. Holly Lucille frequently lectures on, you have a problem. A big MB problem.

MB is associated with lack of sex drive and excess bellyfat due to the estrogen.

What’s even worse is that excess estrogen has been positively linked to prostate cancer.

So as you can see, MBs are not so funny after all. In fact they can be positively dangerous to have.

But you can do something about them without resorting to expensive surgery. Something that’s entirely natural.

Check out Dr. Lucille’s NaturaPause Audios. There is an entire audio dedicated to male menopause and natural solutions that really work.

Most so-called cures do not work.

Hers does.

Go here to find out how to get rid of manboobs without surgery.

Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

Why can’t you lose weight permanently? You’ve tried diet after diet and managed to shed some weight but it still comes back once you slip back into your old habits. It’s so confusing trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t and it’s no wonder many people give up trying.

For anyone who has tried but can’t lose weight it is how to get rid of fat for good that is the burning question. Losing fat is the be-all and end-all when it comes down to it but it can be hard to get rid of stubborn fat, no matter how hard you try. Once the fat has gone it’s just a question of keeping it off forever with the right diet and exercise program.

Finding the right diet and exercise program for YOU is the secret to losing weight but which one should you go for? If you are anxious to lose weight for good but don’t know the best way to go about it then the article below by Rob Poulos should help. It will show you the real reason you can’t lose weight permanently.

Rob Poulos is a fitness author, fat loss expert, and the founder and CEO of Zero to Hero Fitness. Rob created the world’s best method for fast and permanent fat loss. His “Fat Burning Furnace” system is the solution for anyone who wants to avoid restrictive fad diets, endless cardio workouts, and the need for super-human willpower for good.

By Rob Poulos, Fat Loss & Fitness Expert & Creator of ‘Fat Burning Furnace’

People are confused more than ever about how to burn fat. They are confused about the best way to go about achieving the body they want. They are confused about what works and what doesn’t, and the reasons why. There are countless individuals slaving away in gyms and fitness centers around the country right now.

They are working tirelessly, almost every day, on the treadmill, stair-climber, elliptical, etc. to burn those calories and fat. They also might be lifting weights several times a week for hours at a time to build some strength and muscle. They might even join a few aerobics or spinning classes too.

They are probably also trying one of the latest diet strategies that promises miracle fat burning and weight loss. They could also be spending a lot of money on the latest and greatest dietary supplements that could be that miracle pill that will aid in weight loss. They are also carefully watching the scale as their main judge of fat loss progress.

If it goes up a pound or two, they may behave rashly and maybe even change up their entire workout or diet program! And of course there are others are doing variations on that same theme.

After all, this is the kind of stuff that many of the popular fitness and diet gurus typically recommend to burn fat. But with so many different strategies and plans being pushed as the be all and end all, what happens is we tend to overboard.

And when that happens, we lose sight of what really matters in achieving lifelong fat burning, fitness and health…the principles than many people don’t know about, most people have forgotten, and only a select few put to use to achieve lifelong health and fitness. These are the same principles I used to drop over 40 pounds of unwanted body fat, keep it off, and revitalize my life!

With any exercise or nutrition program, you’ll probably lose some fat initially, but far too often the progress doesn’t continue or doesn’t come as fast as the person would like because they’re using a temporary mindset. They’re only focused on the short term and one specific goal. So they end up switching to something else, and the cycle continues until they’ve become consumed by this cycle of confusion.

I believe that this is one of the biggest, if not the #1 reason for the lack of fat loss and fitness progress that is being experienced by the masses of exercisers and dieters in the world. They are jumping from one fad diet or exercise routine to another, while losing sight of what’s really important, and what really works.

Simply put, they are exercising far too much, not nearly intensely enough, and trying to adhere to unrealistic diet recommendations.

If instead they focused on a long term plan, a lifestyle as it’s often called, and didn’t worry about “losing 10 pounds by summer”, they would find it far easier to do the right things most of the time.

And those right things include brief, progressive, and intense resistance training, eating a diet full of nutrient rich foods, drinking tons of water, and getting plenty of quality sleep and rest. The students of my Fat Burning Furnace method understand this and are reaping the life long health and fitness rewards because of it. Are you?

If you’re thinking about using the Fat Burning Furnace system yourself, but still have a few questions, make sure you visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.

You can read about the success stories of others like you to see how people like you have changed their bodies and their lives with the techniques in Fat Burning Furnace.

One final thing; you have a full 60 days to try it out. If it doesn’t work for you, just ask for a full refund with no questions asked!

After reading this article I hope it helped you to understand the reasons why you haven’t lost weight permanently despite your best efforts. It’s not your fault because you have been misled – like so many millions of people just like you. There is no secret to achieving lasting weight loss and becoming slim and healthy.

Losing weight is not just a vanity issue because excess fat around the abdominal region can give rise to all sorts of medical conditions. Unfortunately most people don’t think about the medical aspects until life gives them an almighty shock. Are you going to become a statistic or are you going to take action?

When all is said and done you just have to eat the right foods and follow a well-planned exercise program. And the most healthy way for creating a calorie deficit to lose weight is with cardio and strength-training exercises in combination with a healthy, reduced-calorie diet.

Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

It is a well known fact that most women undergo several physical and hormonal changes after giving birth and mood swings aren’t uncommon among new mothers. Most women today put in considerable effort in order to shed their post pregnancy weight.

In order to reduce weight and improve muscle tone after child birth, women should exercise at a slow and steady pace in a safe manner. This is what leads to the desired weight loss in the long run.

Here’s How To Lose Weight After Pregnancy>>>

The media is full of hype about celebrity moms who have miraculously shed their post pregnancy weight in no time. However, one should realize these celebrities usually have a better metabolic system on an average and also have access to the most expensive personal trainers, diet consultants and enough money to buy the top of the range gym equipment.

Thus, the average new mother shouldn’t feel guilty by making comparisons with the results above and instead try and focus on losing weight according to their own abilities and metabolism levels.

Generally, it takes up to 6 months for a woman to get back to her normal body weight after giving birth. The word ‘Normal’ here implies the average hormonal and metabolic levels that they possessed prior to conception.

In some cases however, they might not be able to get back to their normal weight completely and this is considered completely natural. Mother’s who are breast feeding shouldn’t be calorie conscious because the stress of night feeding and continuous care for their babies is difficult enough without having to worry about weight issues.

The main aim for the first few months after giving birth is to have a healthy and nutritious diet. Ideally, a well balanced diet for new mothers should be around 2000 calories and include 50% carbohydrates, 30% of proteins and 10% of fat along with adequate amounts of fiber.

Nursing mothers can afford to treat themselves occasionally but it should be done in moderation. Perhaps the most common mistake mothers make is to overeat during and after pregnancy. One should not go to extremes.

Exercising at a moderate level is recommended for new mothers but they should focus more on increasing their stamina and muscle tone gradually. The goal should be to achieve mood-elevation and retain optimal health and not to follow a vigorous exercise regime.

On an average women gain between 25-35 pounds during pregnancy but half of this is shed during child birth. The remaining 12-21 pounds can be lost over a period of 6 to 8 months. The key is to do it at a slow and steady pace so that the results remain over a long period of time.

Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

How can you get rid of belly fat?

The fat that you find in your belly is the kind of fat that surrounds various organs. There are two kinds of fat in our body. One is found underneath the skin surface and is called subcutaneous fat.

The other kind of fat is what is causing your belly fat and this is found deep within the body. Lets take a look at some tips that will help you lose that belly fat.

Tip 1: Eat smaller meals 4-6 times a day.

Following this tip will help increase your metabolism because your body will need more energy to digest all the food that you eat.

Tip 2: Eat foods that burn fat.

You want to cut back on foods that contain sugar and white flour. Look to add foods to your diet that have a lot of protein and not a lot of sugar or saturated fats. Fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry, eggs and lean meats are good food to add to your diet to help you lose that belly fat.

Tip 3: Drink a lot of fluids.

The best fluid to drink is water and you want to drink 64 oz. a day. To function at its best, you need to drink a lot of water. Some of the liquids to avoid include canned soda, drinks that have chocolate in them, and some fruit juices. If you are going to drink fruit juices you want to try to drink fresh juices rather than canned juices. The canned juices may contain a lot of sugar.

Tip 4. Exercise using short intense short timed weights and cardiovascular exercises

You want to use weights so that your muscles in your abdomen will get tighter and burn more calories and fat. Some of the exercises that will work your abdominal muscles include squats, presses and pulldowns.

Cardio and aerobic exercises help you to burn calories and increase your metabolism. But forget the long boring cardio.. do short quick time intense weights and cardiovascular exercises.

Some different exercises that will fall under these types of exercises include swimming, running, walking, jogging and dancing to name just a few. Any of these done 3-5 days per week will definitely help you to lose some of that fat.

Dont despair if you are trying to lose some weight or in particular you are trying to lose some of that belly fat. It definitely can be done by changing the quantity and quality of your eating habits. Watch what you eat, when you eat and how much you eat.

Add exercise along with a lot of water, and you should definitely see a difference in your body.

Flat Abs Workouts
Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

One of the greatest ways to burn fat and increase muscle is by boosting your body’s GH (or growth hormone) levels. Growth Hormone is produced by the pituitary gland and it’s levels usually peak during puberty then slowly and steadily decline with age. GH not only plays a key role in muscle development and maintenance but it also assists with fat burning.

Experts have concluded that increasing your GH levels will not only assist in bone and muscle mass development but will also help to shed fat.

For years, bodybuilders have injected synthetic GH to experience the amazing effects it has on their body composition. Unfortunately, the synthetic version of this hormone is very expensive, hard to obtain and causes undesirable side effects. The good news is that you can increase your GH levels naturally, and without any side effects! All you have to do is engage in a targeted hormone stimulating training program. You can start jacking up your own growth hormone today by applying some of these key elements to your workouts:

GH and YOU: Incorporating GH into Your Fat Loss Program

1) Exercise Intensity

In order to increase your GH levels make sure that your workouts are INTENSE! When you have reached optimal intensity levels with your workout do not exceed about 50 minutes. Keep in mind that intense training beyond the 50 minute mark it will actually cause a negative effect on the hormone response to your body.

2) Exercise volume

You’ll have to do as much quality work as you can possibly can during the 50 minute time period. To do this effectively you must alternate sets of exercises in such a way that you train different muscles that don’t interfere with each other. Alternating sets involves going from exercise A to exercise B with minimal rest in between.

3) Rest Periods

Keep your rest intervals as short as possible. Your rest interval is only there to allow recovery so you can perform another quality set. Resting any longer than that is a complete waste of time. To maximize GH output, keep most of your rest intervals between 60-90 seconds.

4) Rep Range

Most of your sets should be around 8-12 repetitions. This will increase lactic acid levels, which in turn activates the release of growth hormone.

5) Sprinting

A great way to trigger the release of growth hormone in the body is old fashioned sprinting. I recommend performing 6-30 second sprints for optimal results.

If you want to be in the shape of your life, follow these steps for a lean, mean new physique! Your workout might start out somewhat difficult for you but I assure you your additional efforts will pay you back big dividends. Finally, you’ll be able to lose stubborn belly fat and build new lean muscle in no time!

Flat Abs Workouts - How to lose belly fat and get a firm stomach

I’m not a huge fan of cardio, spinning, or aerobics in terms of people looking to lose body fat obviously in short time periods. I mean if somebody likes doing it; if somebody wants to be the triathlete, you know what, go ahead and do it and love what you do.

But I’m not a big fan of it for those people I see who are running on the sidewalk and look like they despise every single minute they are doing it.

That is probably a greater percentage of the people who do it when they are looking to lose weight. There are a lot of research studies to say that aerobics and cardio aren’t the greatest way to lose weight. And I’m not a fan of having somebody do stuff they don’t like to achieve a goal when there are other ways to do it.

I’m not a big fan of certain machines in the gym for cardio. It may not be the machine itself, but it may be the excuses. Its human nature that some of these machines allow us to slide by and do stuff that we think is helping us, but subconsciously we’re taking the easy way out.

I have what I call the human nature test; because I always make fun of elliptical machines and I really think that they are not again what people make them out to be.

Let’s say you take 100 people. You go to a mega gym – you’ve got 100 treadmills and 100 elliptical machines – you take 100 people into that room and you say, ” Okay, you have to work out for 30 minutes at a pretty good pace. You choose your machine.”

You know darn well that 70-80 of those people are going to be on the elliptical machines rather than the treadmill. To me, that says something. I just think that we’re wired to take the easy way out.

You can extend it even further and say, ” Okay, you’ve got 100 people; you’ve got 100 treadmills and a track. Go do your training. You can either do the treadmill or the track.” You know 80% of those people are probably going to use the treadmill.

Humans take the easy way out when given hard choices. The other thing that I’m against in terms of cardio is – I refer to it as one of the dark sides of cardio – is that people can get injured doing a high volume of cardio work.

Of course, to be fair, you can get injured doing a high volume of body building work. When I was young and reading the magazines, I was doing too much upper body work and had a little bit of shoulder problems; not anything I haven’t been able to get over.

So injury risk is often proportional to the volume of exercise you do. Too much volume in lifting, too much volume in cardio, or even too much volume in crunches and you’re going to end up in the doctor’s office or the physiotherapy office.

Ironically, many trainers and physiotherapists are the worst offenders of over-use injuries. There is one physio that I worked in a gym where she worked, and she literally could not walk properly because she did so many spinning classes.

Spinning classes are another thing I’m not a huge fan of. On one side, there’s great benefit to your fat loss program because of the group mentality because social support is huge. Working out in that group encourages you to come back. And a lot of people have fun with it. Plus, its interval training in nature. So lots of good things about spinning.

But I figure, why do something for 45 minutes when you can get the same results in 20 minutes? Also, I’m not a big fan of the high RPM spinning because I think that’s where a lot of hip problems have been developed in people that I’ve trained personally and also in some of the classes I’ve watched.

I just don’t think that it’s great for your hips, especially in women who have hip problems already from childbirth, to be going at 140-160 RPM or whatever they are doing and you just watch their bodies flopping around without the right torso strength and endurance and stability there, they are going to end up with problems.

One last thing I’ll say on this is that an aerobic training program is probably one of the worst places to start a 300 pound person out on a fat loss program because their muscles are not prepared for this and neither are their joints. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t want to run with an extra 120 pounds on my back, or even walk quickly. We need to re-examine where we start people out.

So if you are not getting the results you want but you are doing a lot of cardio, spinning, or aerobics classes, decrease the volume, try some interval training, and focus on quality workouts for fat burning.
